Yoga Nidra

Yoga Nidra means yogic sleep; it is an ancient Tantric Yoga practice, which is reducing stress and gives us deep relaxation.

As an enjoyable and easy practice, Yoga Nidra is more accessible than most forms of yoga since all it requires is, lying down and listening.

It is a state of mind between wakefulness and dream. When someone practices Yoga Nidra he opens the deeper phases of the mind. During the practice of Yoga Nidra the consciousness is at different levels. It is a systematic method of complete relaxation and peace, not only for the physical body, but also for the deeper emotional and mental systems, to the root of stresses, allowing the release of subconscious tensions and tendencies that inhibit us from living to our full potential. It brings us to a place of calm, quiet and clarity.

Most people think that relaxation is simply reclining and closing our eyes. When we are tired we simply go to bed. But unless we are free from muscular, mental and emotional tensions, we are never relaxed. That is the reason why many of us wake up in the morning with a feeling of fatigue, restlessness and inadequate rest.

In order to relax completely, the inner tensions, emotions and mind must be released.
The practice of yogic relaxation has been found to effectively reduce tension and improve psychological well being of people. Many people find they benefit especially from relaxation.
